Diode Dynamics DD4025 LED Resistor Kit Pair
The Diode Dynamics DD4025 LED Resistor Kit is designed to help prevent hyperblinking after incandescent turn-signal bulbs are replaced with LEDs. Because LEDs use less power, some vehicles interpret the reduced load as a failed bulb and flash the turn signal rapidly. These resistors add load to the turn-signal circuit so the system can operate normally when the application requires them.
What’s Included
- Two (2) resistors
- Four (4) quick-splice “scotch-lock” connectors
Electrical Rating and Leads
- Resistance: 6 ohms per resistor
- Power rating: 50 watts per resistor
- Lead length: 6 inches
- Wire size: 18 AWG
Installation and Quantity Guidance
Connect one side of a resistor to the positive turn-signal wire and the other side to negative (ground) using the included connectors. On a dual-filament socket, identify the turn-signal power wire before making the connection; Diode Dynamics recommends using a voltmeter for this check.
Diode Dynamics recommends one resistor for each turn-signal bulb converted to LED. This two-resistor kit can support two converted turn signals under that guidance. If both front and rear turn signals are converted, the manufacturer recommends four resistors total. Electrical systems vary, so this quantity guidance does not guarantee that a resistor will resolve every flashing or warning condition.
Heat and mounting: Resistors become hot during prolonged turn-signal activation. Mount them away from plastic, wires and fabric.
Product Questions & Answers
It adds load to an LED turn-signal circuit to help prevent hyperblinking when a vehicle interprets the lower power use of an LED bulb as a failed bulb. It is intended for turn-signal circuits that require added resistance after an LED conversion.
The package contains two resistors and four quick-splice “scotch-lock” connectors. Each resistor has 6-inch, 18-AWG leads.
Diode Dynamics recommends one resistor per turn-signal bulb converted to LED. Use two for two converted signals; if both front and rear signals are converted, the manufacturer recommends four total. Treat this as manufacturer guidance rather than a guaranteed fix for every vehicle.
Each resistor is rated for 50 watts with 6-ohm resistance and has 6-inch, 18-AWG leads.
Connect each resistor between the turn-signal positive wire and negative (ground) using the included connectors. Confirm the correct circuit before tapping any wire. The resistors can become hot during prolonged signal operation, so mount them away from plastic, wires and fabric.
