Before ordering
Compare the complete size, load index and speed rating with your vehicle’s approved requirements. Confirm wheel width, wheel load capacity and clearance as well as diameter. A tire’s dimensions do not establish an OEM vehicle application. If changing tire size or type, have the combination and operating pressure checked by a qualified tire professional.
Questions about 195/65R15
What do the numbers in 195/65R15 mean?
The size uses a nominal 195 mm section width and an aspect ratio of 65; the sidewall height is expressed as a percentage of that nominal width. R denotes radial construction and 15 is the wheel diameter in inches. Nitto lists this exact tire at 25 inches overall diameter and 7.9 inches overall width on the 6.0-inch measuring rim.
What wheel width is approved for this 195/65R15 tire?
Nitto lists 5.5–7.0 inches as the approved rim-width range for stock number 208100. Its 6.0-inch measuring rim is the reference for the published dimensions, not the only approved width. The wheel must also have the correct 15-inch diameter and be suitable for the vehicle and required load.
What does the 91H marking tell me?
91 is the tire’s load index and H is its speed symbol. Use the complete size and service description when checking a replacement against the vehicle’s approved requirements; the tire model name alone is not enough.
Is 51 psi the pressure I should run in this tire?
No. Nitto Canada lists a maximum single-tire pressure of 51 psi and, separately, a maximum single-tire load of 1,356 lb. Those columns do not prescribe the operating pressure for your vehicle or state that maximum load requires that pressure. Follow the applicable vehicle and tire guidance, and confirm operating pressure when changing tire size, type or load requirements.
Is the Nitto SN3 a winter tire or an all-season tire?
The SN3 is Nitto’s studless winter tire line. This size is 195/65R15 with service description 91H. Its winter classification does not establish an OEM vehicle fit; compare the complete size, approved wheel width and vehicle load requirements before choosing a winter setup.
