Choose the output and connection first
For a fixed-color Diode Dynamics pod, choose the listed lens color and either the bare-wire pigtail or 3-pin M8 connector. The two-pod add-on is a separate purchase. Morimoto XRL40 is a white pod for the matching Morimoto system. The dual-color scene kits switch between white and amber or red; they are not RGB color-changing kits.
Build the wiring around your light family
Standalone pods do not include the splitters and extension wires needed for a multi-light layout. Measure each run and check the selected kit contents before adding parts. Diode Dynamics single-color M8 harnesses, extensions and splitters belong to its 3-pin system. Use the Morimoto white wiring part for a matching Morimoto white system; shared appearance does not establish compatibility.
Match the mount to the location
Diode Dynamics Stage Series surface, flush, roll-bar and magnet mounts are different installation choices. Check the mounting surface, clearance and included hardware. Replacement lenses and mounts are accessories, not additional lights. A switch panel can control a properly installed power circuit; it does not turn a fixed-color pod into an RGBW light.
Single-color rock light FAQs
Do individual rock lights include everything needed to install a set?
No. Individual pods are separate from extension wires, splitters and a complete harness. Check the selected connector and plan the installation around its matching light family. Kit contents vary by product and option.
Can I choose amber, red, green or blue instead of white?
The Diode Dynamics single-pod and two-pod listings offer lens-color choices. A fixed-color pod does not change colors through an app. Check the chosen option; Morimoto XRL40 is the white version.
What is the difference between bare-wire and M8 pods?
The Diode Dynamics single-pod listing has bare-wire pigtail and 3-pin M8 options. Bare-wire installation requires a suitable wiring connection; M8 requires matching connectors and harness parts. Select the version for your actual installation.
Why are White/Amber and White/Red scene kits in this collection?
These are separate dual-color scene-light applications. They switch between the two listed outputs and use application-specific mounts. Choose them for rack or camp-area lighting after checking the rack requirements.
Can I use RGBW wiring or another brand's accessories?
Do not assume compatibility. Diode Dynamics 3-pin single-color wiring differs from its 5-pin RGBW system. Morimoto white and RGB parts are also distinct. Match the exact light, connection and accessory listing.
How many rock lights do I need?
Plan the locations you need to illuminate, the mounting space and each wire run. Compare the available kit sizes or add compatible pods to an existing setup. Pod count alone does not guarantee coverage.
