International ProStar Bulb Size Guide: Headlights, Signals & Markers

International ProStar bulb sizes

The original bulb-type headlamp described in Navistar’s ProStar+ manual uses 9006 low beam and 9005 high beam. Parking/turn, side-marker and separate side-turn lamps have different bulb numbers. Start with the lamp housing fitted to your truck; replacement projector and LED assemblies can use different service parts.

Philips’ application chart separately lists 9006 low/dual beam and 9005 high beam for ProStar 2008–2014 and ProStar 2015–2018 with halogen capsule headlamps. These references do not establish every 2006–2007 truck or a replacement housing’s bulb type.

9006 low-beam and 9005 high-beam LED options

Browse 9006 LED bulbs and 9005 LED bulbs for a matching bulb-type headlamp. Check the bulb marking, connector and available space in your housing before choosing a replacement. A matching bulb number alone does not establish every installation detail.

LED headlight conversion bulbs may not comply with FMVSS/CMVSS requirements for on-road use. Check applicable state and provincial laws before use.

The Morimoto and GTR listings below each contain two bulbs. Choose the bulb size for the lighting position you are replacing.

Low-beam daytime running lights

The ProStar+ manual describes daytime running lights that operate the low beams at 75% brightness when the parking brake is released and the ignition is on. Normal headlight operation uses 100%. Choose an LED bulb and any interface for that actual circuit; the brightness setting alone does not identify its electrical waveform or prove that a decoder is required.

Front turn signals and side markers

Use the position-specific numbers in the chart: GE3357 for the headlamp parking/turn bulb, GE194 for its side marker, and GE3156 for the separate incandescent side-turn lamp. Navistar’s circuit chart lists 3357AK for the front marker/turn position. Keep those original codes when checking a replacement bulb’s compatibility list.

A 3157-labelled LED product may list 3357-family bulbs among its compatible numbers. That family listing still needs to match the actual lamp function, colour, socket and electrical circuit. The headlamp and side-turn positions should not be counted as one interchangeable group.

Rear, clearance and work lamps

Rear equipment can use a complete lamp or LED assembly. Navistar’s ProStar+ manual groups the LED stop, turn, tail, backup and licence-plate lamps under Truck Lite Super 44. That is an assembly-family reference, not a 3157 bulb assignment or a count of lamps.

Additional equipment in the Navistar circuit chart

The following entries come from the shared ProStar/LoneStar circuit manual for vehicles built June 14, 2010 and after. This build-date heading is not a model-year range. Select by the named equipment; it does not replace the ProStar+ Super 44 reference above.

United Pacific replacement headlamps use a separate bulb chart

United Pacific lists these specific replacement assemblies for 2006–2017 ProStar. Use the assembly part number to choose its service parts.

The 31175–31178 catalog illustration calls the beams LED, while its specifications list H7/H1. Check the assembly label and service information for that housing. The removable-resistor instructions for 31179–31184 apply to those assemblies, not every ProStar.
