Questions about watermelon and penny light brackets
How do I choose a watermelon or penny light bracket?
Match the bracket to the light’s mounting opening, fixing pattern, required depth and mounting location. Watermelon lights and penny lights use different mounting arrangements; a bracket name alone does not confirm that every light in either family fits.
What is the difference between a straight-down and a 45-degree frame bracket?
The Alpha A0008 straight-down frame bracket positions its light straight down. The Alpha A0012 45-degree frame bracket angles the light down and outward. Choose the orientation for the location and check the mounting dimensions on the individual listing.
Are mounting hardware and lights included?
Contents vary by bracket. The Alpha A0008 straight-down frame bracket includes mounting hardware; the Alpha A0012 45-degree frame bracket excludes the hardware and light. Check each listing before ordering additional parts or assuming a complete lighting kit is supplied.
Does a 1.5-inch bracket opening describe the outside diameter of the light?
No. The 1.5-inch opening listed for the Alpha A0008 and A0012 frame brackets is a mounting-opening measurement. It does not mean the complete light or its lens is 1.5 inches across. Compare the light’s mounting section and the bracket drawing or dimensions.
Will every bracket fit both glass watermelon lights and three-quarter-inch penny lights?
No. Choose a bracket made for the particular light and mounting arrangement. A three-quarter-inch penny light does not automatically fit a watermelon-light bracket, and a glass lens alone is not a complete mountable light assembly.
Can these brackets be installed without drilling?
Some frame-bracket designs use a clamp arrangement; other mounting locations and bracket styles have different requirements. Compare the exact bracket, the truck’s mounting surface and existing holes. The category is not a blanket no-drilling or no-modification fitment promise.
Are the brackets specific to a truck’s year, make and model?
Some brackets are associated with a truck model or location; others require you to compare dimensions and clearances. Universal wording does not establish a verified match for every truck. Read the individual application and measure the intended mounting area.

Match the bracket to the light and the truck
A lighting installation has two mounting connections: the light to the bracket, and the bracket to the vehicle. Check both before buying. Compare the opening, fixing pattern, material, orientation and clearance stated on the exact listing.
Frame, air-cleaner and bunk mounting
Choose the bracket style for the intended location, then verify the attachment points and space behind the light. Clamp brackets, recessed adapters and location-specific panels do not all share the same installation method or hardware.
Build around the complete light
For Glass Is Class Gen 2, select the assembly or kit and check its included parts first. Replacement glass, an LED bulb and a mounting bracket are different components. Keep wiring protected and avoid loading or overtightening the glass during installation.
