Accuracy and completeness are very important to us and our followers. If you notice any incorrect or missing information, please let us know so we can update the guide promptly. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Depending on the year of the model, some fitments may differ from the ones listed, please verify your sockets before purchasing.

Peterbilt 359 Bulb Size Chart

Match the headlamp already fitted to your 359: its shape, lens marking and low/high-beam function determine the replacement. A sealed-beam lamp is replaced as a complete unit; a conversion housing can use a different serviceable bulb.

5.75-inch round LED headlamp options

Choose the Holley Hi/Lo lamp for a combined-beam position or the High Beam Only version for a dedicated high beam. Each listing supplies one lamp.

4×6 rectangular LED headlamp options

For a truck already fitted with this rectangular format, compare the separate Hi/Lo and High Beam Only units. Match the installed lens marking, mounting and circuit before ordering; the number of lamps on the truck does not make all positions the same part.

United Pacific also lists complete LED options specifically for the 1967–1987 359. Its 35827/35828 modules fit inside the OE 359 housing and require wiring to the truck harness; its complete side assemblies are separate products. These LED assembly specifications do not identify the original truck’s replaceable bulb sizes.

For signal, marker and rear lamps, match the individual lamp or installed bulb marking. Their size is not determined by the headlight conversion.

Alpha kit for the matching H11 / 9005 configuration

The Peterbilt 567 Alpha kit below contains two H11 low-beam bulbs, two 9005 high-beam bulbs and a pair of extended low-beam dust caps. Compare it with a fitted headlight that specifically accepts H11 low-beam and 9005 high-beam bulbs. BTS has tested its current 9005 LED offerings in the original HB3A-LL high-beam housings and confirms a direct fit without clearance issues. This kit does not replace a complete factory LED headlight.

PACCAR headlamp restriction: Peterbilt instructs owners not to install LED replacement light sources in PACCAR headlamps because the internal optics can cause an incorrect replacement light source to overheat, creating a fire risk. Matching a bulb socket does not override this restriction. See the manufacturer’s headlamp warning before considering a conversion.

BTS-tested quantity: four signal/parking/marker bulbs — order two pairs. The Alpha and Morimoto amber options below are each sold as a pair. These four signal bulbs are separate from the four headlight bulbs and included dust covers in the base Alpha headlight kit.

BTS recommendation: choose Alpha for bright, reliable signal operation when the high-power signal circuit is not held on as a daytime running light. Alpha signal bulbs do not reduce their high-power output during sustained operation; do not use them for a continuously energized high-power signal DRL.

Morimoto XB alternative: supports standard and CK sockets. BTS has tested its protective output reduction during sustained signal-DRL operation on the T880 and W990. Morimoto separately excludes PWM-driven DRL circuits; contact BTS if that is your setup.

LED Bulb Replacement

Most LED low-beam installations on the Peterbilt 388, 389, 567 and 589 require BTS extended dust covers. A pair is already included in each Alpha ReadyFit kit shown for the 567 and 589; these kits do not need an additional pair. For a compatible standalone-bulb installation, compare the fitted headlight, cap opening and available clearance before ordering separate covers. LED headlight conversion bulbs may not comply with FMVSS/CMVSS requirements for on-road use. Check applicable state and provincial laws before use.

Alpha PWM modules may help with flicker from a compatible pulse-width-modulated lighting supply. Match the connector and circuit requirements, check power and ground, and follow the bulb installation guidance. A module is not required for every installation and cannot fix every bulb-out warning, wiring fault or unsuitable headlight configuration.

Due to manufacturer-specific variations, the information in the table may not be 100% accurate.

FAQs

Your Peterbilt bulb size depends on the model, year, headlight assembly, and whether the truck has halogen, HID, LED, sealed-beam, or aftermarket lights. Always check the bulb printed on the original lamp, your headlight housing, or the product fitment notes before ordering.

Some Peterbilt LED headlights do not use traditional replaceable bulbs. Factory LED or aftermarket LED headlight assemblies may use integrated LEDs, replaceable modules, or complete assembly replacement instead.

Some Peterbilt trucks may need resistors, anti-flicker modules, or decoders when switching from halogen to LED bulbs, but it depends on the truck, bulb position, and lighting system.

The best way to verify a Peterbilt bulb is to remove the original bulb and read the number printed on it. You can also check the headlight assembly label, the truck’s service information, or contact support with the year, model, VIN, and photos of the light.

For modified trucks, photos are especially helpful. Many Peterbilt trucks have aftermarket headlights, custom bumpers, LED cab lights, or replacement signal housings that change the correct bulb.
