Ford F150 Headlight Bulb Fitment Guide

Ford F-150 bulb sizes: 2000–2026

Start with the model year and the lamps actually fitted to your truck. Factory halogen, HID and LED headlights can require different parts. Check fog lights and rear lamps separately, and use the replacement information for any aftermarket assembly.

This guide covers the F-150 configurations listed below. The electric F-150 Lightning has its own lighting information; the 2000–2004 Lightning entries here refer to the earlier performance pickup.

2025–2026 F-150 bulb sizes

Ford’s separate 2025 and 2026 manuals list LED headlamps for the headlamp equipment shown below. They do not provide an H11/9005 replacement-bulb row for those configurations. Do not carry the earlier halogen headlight sizes into this section.

The following rows appear in both manuals. Ford’s equipment labels are retained so that a headlight choice does not also select the fog lights or rear lamps.

LED lamp service: Ford says the listed LED lamps are not serviceable and directs a vehicle check if they fail. Use the correct module or assembly service information. An equipment name absent from a row is not covered by that row, and a listed option does not establish that it is installed on your truck.

2024 F-150: factory LED reference

The reviewed 2024 Ford chart lists the headlamp as LED for XLT optional, XL, Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch and Limited. The XL reference below keeps the front and rear lighting functions separate.

This XL table does not extend to an unlisted trim or replacement housing. The front side-marker row is also explicitly listed for XLT in Ford’s 2024 chart.

2023 F-150: halogen and LED equipment

The 2023 Ford manual has separate H11 low-beam and 9005 high-beam rows for XLT optional and XL bulb headlamps. It also has a separate LED headlamp row. Select the actual headlight equipment before choosing a bulb.

Rear-lamp choice matters: Ford repeats “XL optional” in different rear-lamp rows, including bulb and LED reverse lamps. Match the fitted rear assembly and original bulb; trim or headlight type alone cannot select between those rows. A combined function row is not a bulb quantity.

2021–2022 F-150 factory bulb chart — except Lightning

These matching 2021 and 2022 Ford charts cover the listed North American F-150 equipment, excluding the electric F-150 Lightning. Match the lamps fitted to your truck: optional equipment labels appear in both bulb and LED rows, so trim name alone does not select the replacement.

Keep stop and cargo lamps separate: 912 is the central high-mounted stop-lamp bulb. Ford lists the central high-mounted cargo lamp on vehicles with a cargo box, and the rear cargo-box lamp, as LED. The grouped rear-function rows do not specify how many bulbs to buy.

Check the rear assembly: “XL optional” appears in several rear-lamp rows, including both bulb and LED reversing lamps. Match the installed lamp and its original bulb marking. The front fog lamp also has separate 9140 and LED equipment rows.

2021–2022 lamp service notes

Ford directs LED lamp failures to an authorized dealer because the LED lamps are not serviceable. The halogen headlamp and front signal/marker procedures use access through the wheel liner; handle halogen bulbs by the base without touching the glass. The fog-bulb procedure applies only where that equipment is fitted. Rear-lamp and high-mounted stop-lamp procedures do not change the equipment choices in the chart.

2021 manual and build scope: Ford separately lists the earlier manual for vehicles built up to 7/5/2021 and the Job 2 manual. Both give the chart above. Use the manual for your truck when following a service diagram: the earlier manual labels the rear assembly A turn signal, B reversing, C rear/stop; Job 2 labels A stop/rear/turn and B reversing. These diagram letters do not establish a bulb quantity.

2021–2022 F-150 bulb-headlight reference

Philips lists these headlight codes for 2021–2022. Use them only when they match the replaceable bulbs in the original housing. This row does not identify every trim’s headlamp equipment or the front-signal, fog or rear-lamp options. Check those positions against the truck’s own manual and original bulb markings; the 2023 chart is not a substitute for a 2021 or 2022 chart.

2015–2020 F-150 bulb sizes

The original bulb-headlight configuration uses H11 low beam and 9005 high beam in the documented rows below. Factory LED headlights require their own service parts. Front-signal codes should remain separated by source year.

The 2019 Ford manual specifies 7444NA for the combined front direction indicator and parking lamp; the 2020 manual specifies 4257NA. Check the actual base, contacts and bulb marking before selecting an LED signal replacement.

2019 and 2020 exterior bulbs beyond the headlights

The rear-lamp and fog-light options are independent of headlight type. Ford’s grouped rear functions do not establish how many bulbs to buy. Use the original lamp markings when a catalog or older guide gives a different code.

2004–2014 F-150 bulb sizes

Separate the 2004 body styles and the 2013–2014 HID option. The standard 2004 F-150 and the 2004 Heritage have different headlight references. A factory HID headlamp does not take an H13 conversion bulb.

These are the specific front-lighting applications in the Philips chart. They do not identify the bulb used by an aftermarket headlamp, establish a separate HID high-beam replacement, or determine every rear-lamp option.

2000–2003 F-150 bulb sizes

The Philips entries below list 9007 in the low-or-dual-beam column. Fog bulbs differ by the named model, so match the original fog lamp separately.

Shop bulbs by the original headlight size

Choose the family that matches the source row and the bulb removed from your truck. Check the selected product’s connector, locking base, available space, dust-cap fit and electrical instructions. These bulb options do not replace factory LED modules or D3S HID equipment.

LED headlight conversion bulbs may not comply with FMVSS/CMVSS requirements for on-road use. Check applicable state and provincial laws before use.

Follow the selected bulb’s installation instructions and stated intended use.

H11 low-beam bulb options

9005 high-beam bulb options

For the matching original 9005 high-beam configurations listed above.

2015–2017 Diode Dynamics application: Diode Dynamics specifically lists H11 low beam and 9005 high beam for these years and excludes factory LED headlights. Its SL2 Pro product references are DD0483P low beam and DD0481P high beam. That application statement does not extend to every brand or a different model year.

H13 / 9008 shared-beam bulb options

For the matching H13 (9008) bulb-headlamp rows above. The 2013–2014 factory HID option and the 2004 Heritage 9007 application are separate.

9007 bulb options

For the listed 2000–2003 and 2004 Heritage 9007 applications, after confirming the original socket. These products list both 9007 and 9004; follow the instructions for the 9007 configuration.

Signals, markers, fog and rear lamps

Use the exact position and equipment row above when checking a replacement. Match bulb color, base contacts and operating function as well as the number on the bulb. Where the table lists LED, use the lamp’s service information. Where an older-year position is not listed, check that year’s manual or the bulb removed from the lamp before ordering.
