2x Rubber dust caps which replace the factory dust caps on your low beam. The extended caps allow for larger led bulbs to be installed.
Extended low-beam dust covers for Peterbilt 389/388/567
This pair of rubber covers adds space behind the low-beam bulb compared with the factory dust caps. Use them when planning an LED bulb installation that needs extra rear clearance, after checking the headlight housing fitted to the truck.
Fitment and installation checks
- Compare the current low-beam dust cap and the housing opening with the replacement.
- Check room for the bulb, connector and cooling assembly before fitting the cap.
- Confirm that the cover seats fully without pushing on the bulb or pinching its wiring.
- Match the LED bulb to the headlight separately; a deeper cap does not change the bulb socket or electrical connection.
Use the specifications of the installed headlight when comparing LED headlight bulbs. Replacement or aftermarket housings may have a different cap arrangement.
Product questions and answers
How many extended headlight dust caps are included?
The set contains two rubber dust caps. LED bulbs and headlight assemblies are not included.
What do the extended dust caps change?
They replace the factory low-beam dust caps to provide additional room behind the bulb. They do not change the headlight’s bulb socket, wiring or beam pattern.
Are these caps for the low beam or high beam?
The product is specified as a replacement for the factory low-beam dust caps. Do not assume the same fit on a high-beam cover or another headlight housing.
Do these caps fit every Peterbilt 389, 388 or 567 headlight?
The listed application is Peterbilt 389/388/567, but the housing installed on the truck still matters. Compare your current low-beam cap and housing opening before ordering, particularly if the headlight assembly has been replaced.
Will an extended cap make every LED bulb fit?
No. The extra cover space is one part of the installation. Check the bulb base, connector, cooling assembly and available room, then confirm that the cap seats fully without forcing the bulb or trapping wiring.
