Alpha Series 3g Dielectric Grease – Protect Your Electrical Connectors from Moisture & Corrosion
Keep your truck’s wiring and lighting connections safe from moisture, road salt, and corrosion with Alpha Series Dielectric Grease. This handy 3g tube of silicone-based grease is non-conductive and waterproof, forming a protective seal around electrical contacts. By repelling water and dirt, it prevents oxidation and voltage leakage, which extends the life of bulb sockets and connectors.
Designed for 12V/24V automotive and marine systems, our dielectric grease works in extreme temperatures from -40°F to 392°F (–40°C to 200°C). It’s safe on all plastics and rubber seals, so you can apply it to connectors without worry of damage. Pro installers have long used dielectric grease to avoid corrosion and ensure reliability – now DIYers can do the same for their truck, off-road vehicle, or trailer.
How Does It Help? When you apply a small dab to connector pins, bulb bases, or battery terminals, the grease seals out water and air, stopping corrosion before it starts. It also makes assembly easier by lubricating the connection (no more stuck or dry connectors) and reduces arcing. This means brighter, more reliable lights and electronics every time you hit the road.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Compact 3g Tube: Sufficient for a full lighting install or several connector applications. Easy to carry in any toolbox or glove compartment.
-
Silicone-Based & Non-Conductive: Will not interfere with electrical flow or cause short circuits. Instead, it insulates contacts while allowing the metal-to-metal connection to conduct as intended.
-
Weatherproof Protection: Blocks out water, salt, dirt and road grime. Prevents rust and corrosion on plugs, sockets, and terminals for years of service.
-
Extends Component Life: Prevents arcing and voltage leaks that can burn out connectors. Keeps bulbs and connectors from seizing up or corroding, making future maintenance easy.
-
Safe on Materials: Will not harm plastic housings, wiring insulation, or rubber gaskets. Compatible with all common connector types and automotive-grade plastics.
-
Wide Temperature Range: Stable from -40° up to 200°C, so it won’t melt or freeze in harsh climates. It also will not dry out or harden over time, ensuring long-lasting protection.
Ideal Uses (DIY or Professional)
This dielectric grease is a perfect add-on for any Alpha Series Lighting install – or any electrical project – to improve longevity and reliability. Use it on:
-
Lighting Connectors: Apply to Alpha Series “Glass is Class” watermelon light plugs, headlight and fog light bulb sockets, LED pod light connectors, and Deutsch-style waterproof connectors on light bars. It keeps moisture out of these critical connections for consistent performance.
-
Wiring Harnesses & Terminals: Seal 2-pin or 3-pin harness plugs, trailer wiring connectors, and quick-disconnects. Great for trailer hitch wiring, RV connectors, and any exposed plug that needs weatherproofing.
-
Battery & Fuse Box: Protect battery terminals, fuse block contacts, and relay sockets from corrosion. A thin layer on battery posts prevents that white fuzzy corrosion and ensures maximum current flow.
-
General Electrical Maintenance: Useful on spark plug boots, antenna connections, marine electronics, or anywhere you want to prevent water intrusion and corrosion. One tube can serve multiple small projects.
How to Apply
-
Prepare the Surface: Turn off power and, if needed, disconnect the connector. Clean off any existing corrosion or dirt from the metal contacts (a wire brush or contact cleaner works well).
-
Apply a Small Amount: Squeeze a pea-sized drop of Alpha Series Dielectric Grease onto a cotton swab or directly onto the contact pins. Coat all metal contact surfaces with a thin, even layer. Remember, a little goes a long way – avoid over-applying.
-
Reconnect: Reassemble the connector or insert the bulb back into its socket. The grease will be displaced at the exact contact points, ensuring metal-to-metal contact for conductivity, while everything around is sealed.
-
Seal & Wipe Excess: For connectors with rubber boots, apply a bit around the seals as well before closing to enhance the waterproof seal. Wipe off any excess grease from outside the connection for a clean finish.
Your connection is now protected! The grease stays in place and will not melt or drip even when the engine bay heats up or in blazing summer weather.
