Osram Xenarc 66240 Classic: is a budget-yet-OEM replacement for the Osram 66040 or 66240, which are original equipment on many modern Japanese and German cars today.
Though it’s Osram’s “base model” we find that hard to consider. Osram 66240CLC’s have all the same specs as the 85122+ as far as Kelvin, rated lifetime, and also has the same style metal base to ensure a precise, uniform, and clean beam pattern.
Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI: Easily the best D2S headlight bulbs to ever hit the market, we are honored to offer the ultimate Osram CBI Bulbs. Indeed they are the “Rolls Royce” of D2S Lamps.
What makes them so amazing? Osram’s Xenarc 66240 CBI bulbs offer more lumens than the once industry-standard Philips 85122+ 4300K bulb, but with a higher Kelvin rating of up to 6000K. Whereas most bulbs lose lumens when their Kelvin rises, the Osram Xenarc 66240 CBIs still manage to give users the benefit of brighter light combined with whiter light – the best of both worlds indeed!
Osram Xenarc 66240 CBA: Osram’s latest introduction to the 6000K bulb market, the Cool Blue Advanced just came out in Q3 2018, and replaces the Cool Blue Hyper bulbs from 2016. If you are looking for the best, brightest 6000K bulb on the market, the CBA is the best of the best for a variety of reasons!
What makes them so amazing? Osram’s Cool Blue Intense (CBI) bulbs broke all the rules when they produced more lumens than a comparable 4300K bulb while offering a whiter 5500K light output. But now…they’ve done it again with the Cool Blue Advance. Even more light output compared to the Cool Blue Intense, but in a 6000K version. Mind blown!
Osram Xenarc 66240 CBB: Osram’s CBI and CBH bulbs are top performers in their category, with an amazing amount of white bright paired with max luminosity; they’re topped only by the Osram CBB (Cool Blue Boost) AKA the cream of Osram’s crop.
In a recent comparison test, the Osram Cool Blue Boost bested the CBH, CBI, and standard by a solid margin. Forget about the fancy names and Kelvin ratings Osram is assigning, these things are simply the best & brightest bulb that Osram currently makes for use in your D2S headlight! (CBB = 460 Lux, CBH = 415 Lux, CBI = 340 Lux, Standard = 315 Lux)
7000K? So Osram rates these bulbs at 7000K, which is actually quite blue…but in our own testing, we found the CBB to have no more “blue” color to it compared to the CBH (which they rate at 6000K) and/or the CBI (which they rate at 5500K) – in this case, it seems that Osram is actually playing into the common misnomer that Kelvin rating = brightness by rating the bulbs accordingly higher. Weird!
Osram Xenarc 66240 NBL: It wasn’t long ago that the XV2 from Philips was the brightest bulb on the market. No More! The all-new Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S has taken the rank and recently tested to be the BRIGHTEST HID bulb currently on the market.
What makes these Osram Night Breaker Laser D2S so amazing? The old Osram XNB (standard Night Breaker) was touted to have “Up to 70% more light output” compared to a standard bulb. The XNL Laser? 200%! Thanks to the most modern technology and some crafty physical changes Osram made to the focal position of these Xenarc 66240 bulbs, they’ve really pulled out the stops on low beam performance!
