Before ordering
Compare the complete tire size, load index and speed rating with your vehicle’s approved requirements, then confirm wheel suitability and available clearance. A matching wheel diameter alone does not establish vehicle fitment. If changing from the original tire size or type, have the combination and operating pressure checked by a qualified tire professional.
Questions about 35X12.50R18LT
What does 35X12.50R18LT mean, and is it exactly 35 inches tall?
This flotation size identifies a nominal 35-inch overall diameter, 12.5-inch section width and 18-inch wheel diameter. R denotes radial construction and LT identifies a light-truck tire. The published dimensions for this exact Baja Boss A/T size are 34.6 inches overall diameter and 12.8 inches section width on the 10.0-inch measuring rim.
What wheel width is approved for this 35X12.50R18LT tire?
Mickey Thompson lists an approved rim-width range of 8.5–11.0 inches for this 18-inch tire. The 10.0-inch measuring rim is the reference for the published dimensions; it is not the only approved rim width. Also confirm the wheel is suitable for your vehicle and its required load.
Does Load Range D mean this tire has 8 physical plies?
No. Load Range D corresponds to a 8-ply rating, which describes a strength/load-rating class rather than a count of the tire’s actual cord layers. Use the 118Q service description and the tire’s load/inflation information when comparing this exact size.
Does the 50 psi specification tell me what pressure to run?
No. Mickey Thompson lists the tire’s maximum load as 2,910 lb at 50 psi; this is a load/inflation rating, not a pressure recommendation for every vehicle. Follow the applicable vehicle and tire guidance, and have the operating pressure confirmed when changing tire size or type.
Will this fit any pickup with 18-inch wheels?
No. The 18-inch wheel diameter is only one requirement. Check the full 35X12.50R18LT size, approved 8.5–11.0-inch wheel width, 118Q service description and vehicle clearance. The vehicle’s approved tire specifications and the actual wheel-and-tire combination determine suitability.
