Freightliner Coronado Bulb Size Guide

Freightliner Coronado bulb sizes by headlamp configuration

Start with the headlamp actually installed on your truck. The Philips chart below separates the 2012 listing from the 2013–2018 two- and four-headlamp configurations. For an earlier truck, a Coronado 132, a glider or a replacement housing, confirm the bulb marking and assembly number before using a row.

Source: Philips 2022 automotive lighting catalog, printed page 382. A dash means the chart has no entry in that cell. The unqualified 2013–2018 row and the two equipment-specific rows are retained separately; use the four-headlamp row for that configuration. This catalog does not establish every Coronado year or replacement housing.

Four-headlamp trucks: keep the XS suffix when identifying 9006XS low beams and 9005XS high beams. Check the marked base, connector and housing clearance before selecting a replacement. The standard 9006/9005 LED products are not matched to these XS rows in this guide.

9008 / H13 LED options for a matching bulb-type headlamp

Philips lists 9008 for the 2012 Coronado. If your installed headlamp takes that bulb, compare these Alpha, Morimoto and GTR options in the 9008/H13 family. Confirm the bulb marking, retainer, connector and cooling space in your actual housing before ordering.

9003 / H4 LED options for a matching two-headlamp configuration

Philips lists 9003 for 2013–2018 Coronado trucks with two headlamps. These Alpha, Morimoto and GTR products are in the 9003/H4 family. Match the installed bulb and housing before ordering; this selection does not apply to the four-headlamp 9006XS/9005XS configuration.

A product’s bulb family does not establish a tested installation in every Coronado. Verify the required bulb count on the truck and the contents of the selected package.

LED headlight conversion bulbs may not comply with FMVSS/CMVSS requirements for on-road use. Check applicable state and provincial laws before use.

Stop lamps, signals and marker lights

Stop lamp: Philips lists 1157 in the STOP column for its 2012 Coronado and unqualified 2013–2018 Coronado rows. That is a stop-lamp reference, not a front turn-signal specification. The equipment-specific rows do not repeat a stop-lamp code.

Front turn, parking and side marker lamps: identify each fitted lamp and its bulb marking. The headlamp configuration alone does not establish these bulb sizes. Also check rear turn, tail, backup and any fog lamps separately; a combined lamp may serve several functions.

Replacement headlamps can change the bulb requirement

Use the replacement assembly’s own part number and instructions when the original headlamp has been changed:

  • United Pacific 31284 / 31285: the manufacturer’s 7-inch crystal headlamps use a 9007 bulb, with an amber or white LED halo respectively. The LED halo does not make the headlamp an all-LED unit. This specification identifies those assemblies; the cited catalog page does not establish a Coronado model-year application.
  • Pacesetter PS-FLC8700KIT-B / PS-FLC8700KIT-C: its 2015 catalog lists complete J.W. Speaker LED headlamp retrofit kits for 2008–2012 Coronado trucks. The H4 connector and separately listed H13-to-H4 adapter are retrofit component information, not a factory bulb-size claim. Follow the exact kit’s mounting and wiring instructions.

Check the housing and electrical operation

Freightliner’s 122SD/Coronado 132 manual describes different headlamp assemblies. Trux also distinguishes original and replacement Coronado buckets when diagnosing mounting fit. Match the assembly, mounting space and connector instead of relying on the truck name alone.

Where fitted, Freightliner’s daytime running lights switch with ignition, parking-brake and headlight operation. The cited manual does not identify a universal DRL bulb or waveform for this guide. Check low beam, high beam and DRL operation for the installed configuration; an adapter or electrical correction must suit that actual circuit.
