The Alpha Series A5001 upfitter kit supplies an amber 3157 LED bulb, an adhesive silicone gasket and a venting patch for an existing 3157 glass watermelon light. It is intended to add a vented setup to a suitable light base; it does not include a complete glass watermelon fixture.

Fitment and installation
Check the existing 3157 base, bulb clearance and proposed vent location before modifying the light. The supplied installation sequence calls for a small hole in the back of the base, the vent patch over that opening, and replacement of a foam gasket with the silicone gasket where needed. Allow 24 hours for the patch adhesive to bond before turning on the light. Confirm the appropriate hole location and dimensions with BTS for your particular base.
