Power the Elite or SS3 fog-light backlight from the parking-light signal using the matching factory connectors.
Check the headlight connector first
DD4134 is for the backlight connection on the specified 2016–2023 Tacoma Elite Series and SS3 fog-light installations. It is not compatible with factory OEM LED headlights. Some halogen headlight assemblies also lack the required connector, so compare the actual plugs before ordering.
This pair powers the accent/backlight function. It does not replace the main fog-light power connection, change the beam colour or make an otherwise incompatible fog kit fit the truck.
Two adapters, one for each side
The DD4134 package contains two inline harness adapters with braided protective sleeving and 22AWG wiring. Each has a female spade lead for the matching male backlight connection on the fog-light wire adapter. Lamps and fog-light mounting kits are sold separately.
Connect the parking-light signal to the backlight
- Switch the vehicle lights off and follow the applicable vehicle service procedure before disconnecting electrical plugs.
- Connect one DD4134 adapter inline between the matching vehicle and headlight harness connectors. Seat the plugs and locks fully.
- Connect its female spade lead to the male spade on the fog-light backlight adapter. Repeat on the other side.
- Secure the wiring away from hot or moving parts, then test the backlights with the parking lights. Confirm the factory lamps and main fog beams still operate normally.
If the factory connectors do not match, stop and choose the correct wiring method for the installed headlight and fog kit; do not cut the plugs to force a fit.
Compatibility and warranty
Will it work with my factory LED headlights?
No. The current DD4134 application excludes factory OEM LED headlamps. Check the plugs even with halogen headlamps, because some lack the required connector.
Does it power the fog beam?
No. This is the backlight/accent connection. Keep the main fog-light power wiring separate and follow the instructions for the exact lamp kit.
Do I need to select a colour?
No. This is one DD4134 harness pair. The lamp determines its available backlight colours; the harness supplies the parking-light signal.
