Set the fog main-beam colour

DD9010 · SS3 Dual-Color SmartSelect

Program the two fog lamps with the existing fog-light control while the truck is parked. The off-road pair and Amber backlights are separate; this sequence changes only the Dual-Color main beams.

Start with the correct lamps

This procedure applies to SS3 Dual-Color pods. Fixed-colour Sport, Pro and Max lamps do not gain SmartSelect through switching. The factory main-beam setting is White.

Complete mounting, wiring and aiming first. Use the eleven-image F-150 installation guide, including the factory-camera reconnection and fog aiming steps.

For a custom controller or non-factory-fog truck, confirm that its output provides the intended steady power and can reproduce these on/off timings.

Enter programming with three short cycles

  1. Switch the fog lamps on for 1–3 seconds, then off for about 1 second.
  2. Repeat that on/off cycle twice more: three cycles total.
  3. Switch them on a fourth time. The main beams should change to Yellow, showing programming mode.

Stop on the colour you want

To move to the next choice, keep the lamps on for 1–3 seconds, turn them off for about 1 second, then on again.

Save Yellow

When Yellow appears, leave the lamps on continuously for at least 5 seconds.

Save White

Cycle to White, then leave the lamps on continuously for at least 5 seconds.

The available sequence is Yellow → White → Yellow → White → White reset. There are two opportunities to choose each colour before the cycle ends.

If the cycle ends on White

Keep the lamps on for at least 5 seconds to save White, then off for at least 5 seconds. You can then start the three-cycle entry sequence again.

Check that both fog lamps respond together and retain the intended colour. If one does not, recheck the exact supplied instructions, connector seating and power/control behaviour before changing wiring.
