Install FORM license-plate lights on your Tacoma

FORM includes FL0057 in this general plate-lamp procedure. Its photographs show a manufacturer reference installation, not a claim that every bumper has the same clip position. Identify your original lamp notch, clips and socket before removal.

Before you start

Confirm the correct lamp part number and original equipment. Work with the vehicle parked securely and the lamps off during removal. Keep removed clips and screws together.

1. Release the original housing

Ease a plastic trim tool between the original lamp housing and bumper. Use the housing notch, where present, to locate a retention-clip area and guide your pressure.

2. Remove the socket from the housing

Twist and withdraw the original socket from the housing to expose the bulb. Keep the socket and wiring supported.

3. Connect the new LED lamp and test

Remove the original bulb, connect the new lamp and check operation. If it does not illuminate, FORM instructs unplugging the lamp, reversing its plug orientation and testing again. Do not force an incompatible connector.

4. Seat the new housing

Snap the replacement lamp into the original mounting opening and check the retention clips. Repeat on the other side, then check both lamps illuminate.

Finish with an operation check

Check both lamps before discarding the original parts. If the connector, retention points or operation differ from the supplied instructions, stop and contact BTS with a photo of the original assembly.
