Product Description
Fix LED flickering, false “bulb out” warnings, and CAN bus errors with the JW Speaker H4 Load Equalizer (Part #3270821). This plug-and-play 9″ male-to-female harness is designed to provide the proper resistance when retrofitting LED headlights in heavy-duty trucks using a standard H4 connector — including Kenworth W900, Peterbilt 379/389, Western Star 4900, and more.
Whether you’re upgrading to JW Speaker’s 8800, 8900, 8910, 8700, or 8630 LED headlamps, this 16 Ohm, 50W load equalizer ensures your truck’s electrical system sees a proper load — eliminating flickering beams, dash error codes, high beam surges, and other common retrofit headaches.
Key Features
-
OEM-Compatible Fix for Flickering LED Headlights
Designed to stop low-voltage flickering caused by DRL systems, PWM dimming, or reduced idle voltage on older rigs. Ensures consistent headlight performance in both low and high beam modes. -
Eliminates Fault Codes & High Beam Warnings
Solves false dashboard warnings such as “bulb out” indicators or flashing high beam icons caused by LED low current draw. Mimics halogen resistance so the truck’s computer sees a correct load. -
Plug-and-Play H4 Harness
9-inch inline harness with H4 (9003) male-to-female plugs. No cutting, splicing, or extra wiring — just connect between your truck’s headlight socket and your JW Speaker LED headlight. -
Compact, Heat-Resistant Design
Features a 16 Ohm, 50W resistor encased in a heat-dissipating housing. Compact enough to fit behind tight headlight assemblies like those found in the Kenworth W900 and similar cabs. -
Compatible with JW Speaker LED Headlight Models
Works with:-
JW Speaker 8800 Evolution (4×6)
-
JW Speaker 8900 & 8910 (5×7)
-
JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 (7″ round)
-
JW Speaker 8630 series
Also suitable for other LED headlights with H4 connectors that experience flicker or electrical conflict in heavy-duty truck applications.
-
Common Use Cases
-
Kenworth W900, T800, T600
-
Peterbilt 359, 379, 389
-
Western Star 4900
-
Freightliner FLD series
-
Any older truck running H4 wiring not originally designed for low-draw LED headlights.
Installation Instructions
-
Turn off power. Unplug your truck’s H4 headlight connector from the LED lamp.
-
Connect the load equalizer. Plug the resistor harness inline — male connector into the truck, female connector into the LED headlight.
-
Secure the resistor. Use the mounting tab to bolt the resistor body to a metal surface (chassis, frame, etc.) away from plastic or wiring. The resistor will get warm during operation.
-
Power on and test. Your LED headlights should now operate flicker-free with no dash errors.
Use one load equalizer per headlight. If your truck uses two or four LED lights, install one module for each.
Why You Need This
LED headlights offer superior visibility, but they’re not always plug-and-play on older rigs. Without enough electrical load, your truck’s system may think a bulb is out — causing annoying warnings, flickering lights, or misfiring high beams. This module bridges the gap between modern LED tech and legacy truck wiring, making your upgrade headache-free.
