Assemble and aim Tacoma 4Banger fog lights
Identify the Type T mounting hardware and set up the fog-light kit for its intended beam pattern.
Start with the factory fog-light location
The BAF014 Type T brackets replace compatible factory fog-light mounts on the 2012–2023 Tacoma. This kit requires existing fog lights and their factory wiring; it is not a complete conversion for a fogless truck.
Toyota used two slightly different mounting-point spacings. Morimoto supports both but warns that the wider spacing can be a tight fit. Compare the original lamp and bracket before proceeding.
Use your vehicle service instructions to access and remove the original fog lights. Morimoto’s linked Type T sheet is an assembly reference rather than a step-by-step bumper-access procedure.
Identify the bracket parts and assemble the lamp
- 1 · Type T mount
- The vehicle-specific housing that holds the pod.
- 2 · 4Banger pod
- The selected colour, power tier and beam pattern.
- 3 · Main screws
- M6-1 × 8mm stainless button-head screws.
- 4 · Type T adjuster
- The rear mechanism for setting the beam angle.
- 5 · Adjuster screws
- M3 × 16mm stainless button-head screws.
- 6 · Electrical input
- Deutsch DT connector; connect with the supplied DT-to-H11 adapter, not shown in the drawing.
Assemble the pod and adjuster in the orientation shown, using the specified hardware. Fit the bracket at the original fog-light mounting points, connect the factory adapter, and keep the wiring and rear ventilation path clear. Test both lights before reinstalling access panels.
Choose the correct beam, then aim it
SAE Wide is the fog-light beam option. Morimoto’s current listing provides SAE F 20 photometric reports for NCS and HXB Wide. Spot and Combo choices do not inherit that fog-use claim.
The Type T sheet recommends the NCS Wide beam aimed downward by 3°. The bracket provides approximately ±6° of vertical adjustment. Follow the documentation for the exact pods and confirm the final beam does not shine into oncoming traffic.
