Install an eight-pod SS5 windshield bar on a JK
Use the JK A-pillar mounting points, route the harness behind the padded brackets, then adjust the linked bar and supports.
Prepare the Jeep and bar
For 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK. A 2018 Wrangler may be JK or JL; identify the generation before ordering. Aftermarket bumpers, body hardware and other accessories need a separate clearance and mounting check.
Use a T40 Torx bit and ratchet for the factory A-pillar bolts. Assemble the eight-pod bar using the SS5 CrossLink assembly, wiring and backlight guide. Protect painted surfaces while fitting the brackets.
Step 1
Fit both windshield brackets
Remove the six driver-side A-pillar bolts; five will be reused. Align the mounting pad and route the harness behind the bracket. Fit five original bolts and the supplied replacement bolt loosely, leaving about a quarter inch of clearance. Repeat on the passenger side.

Step 2
Mount and adjust the linked bar
Attach the assembled CrossLink bar with the supplied M6 hardware and leave it slightly loose. Set the desired curve and place the rubber support bumpers against the windshield frame. Apply outward tension while tightening to reduce vibration, then tighten the bracket hardware on both sides.

Connect the fused harness
Connect the bar to its supplied harness, route to the battery and connect positive and negative ring terminals correctly. Route the switch into the cabin. Secure the loom clear of heat, sharp edges and moving parts; test before finishing.
White-lens backlights provide eight selectable colours, while Yellow-lens backlights are Amber only. Follow the shared SS5 CrossLink assembly, wiring and backlight guide for programming and reset.
