2019–2025 TOYOTA RAV4 · WITHOUT FACTORY FOG LIGHTS
Install an Elite add-on fog-light system on your RAV4
Fit the lamps and bezels, install the complete DD4110 harness, connect the lighting triggers and cabin control, then test and aim the fog beams.
Use the add-on package for a vehicle without fog lights
This guide accompanies DD8817 White, DD8818 Yellow and DD9005 Dual Color for 2019–2025 Toyota RAV4 without factory fog lights. TRD Off-Road and Adventure are excluded. Factory LED accent lamps, if fitted, are disabled by the conversion. A RAV4 already equipped with fogs needs the separate replacement package.
Have a 10 mm socket, trim tools and suitable electrical tools ready. Follow vehicle service guidance for safe battery isolation and wiring. Protect the paint, support the bumper cover and keep wiring away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts.
The supplied DD4110 harness combines a cabin switch with lighting-circuit triggers. Leaving its switch on enables automatic operation; it does not require manually switching on the fogs for every journey. Activation, high-beam deactivation and Amber-backlight connections are separate.

STEP 1 OF 15
Remove upper bumper fasteners
Open the hood. Remove the upper bumper-cover fasteners using a 10 mm socket.

STEP 2 OF 15
Remove lower bumper fasteners
Remove the fasteners beneath the bumper cover and keep them organized for refitting.

STEP 3 OF 15
Remove wheel liner fasteners
Remove the front wheel-liner fasteners and clips on both sides to expose the bumper attachments.

STEP 4 OF 15
Release bumper from fender flares
Carefully release the cover from the fender flares and remove each retaining clip without damaging the painted edges.

STEP 5 OF 15
Disconnect bumper electrical connectors
Reach behind the driver-side liner and disconnect the electrical connectors attached to the bumper cover.

STEP 6 OF 15
Remove front bumper cover
Once every attachment and connector is free, move the cover forward onto a protected surface.

STEP 7 OF 15
Remove fog bezel harness clips
Release the harness clips from the backs of the original fog-position bezels with a suitable trim tool.

STEP 8 OF 15
Remove factory fog light bezels
Release the retaining tabs and remove the original bezels.

STEP 9 OF 15
Install replacement fog light bezels
Snap the supplied RAV4 bezels into the original openings and check that every retaining clip is engaged.

STEP 10 OF 15
Install fog light pods
Secure each Elite lamp using its supplied hardware and mounting instructions. Check washer placement and keep the adjustment mechanism accessible.

STEP 11 OF 15
Make wiring connections
Route the DD4110 harness in the engine bay and connect its positive and ground leads at the specified power and ground locations. Route one lamp output to each side; follow the original diagram and harness labels.

STEP 12 OF 15
Connect backlight and trigger wiring (Optional)
Connect the optional Amber-backlight lead to the driver-side sidemarker circuit as shown. The vehicle article identifies the passenger-side sidemarker connection for activation, and the driver-side headlamp connector for high-beam deactivation. Match the actual reflector/LED/bulb-sidemarker connector to the original chart before making a tap; do not identify a vehicle wire by colour alone.

STEP 13 OF 15
Route switch wiring and mount switch
Pass the supplied switch wiring through the existing firewall grommet, protecting and sealing the opening. Mount the switch in an appropriate unused dash blank and connect its ground as instructed. Follow the supplied harness labels and the cabin-switch diagram below.

STEP 14 OF 15
Reinstall bumper and test operation
Refit the bumper cover and reconnect all original electrical connectors. Test both fog lamps, the switch, lighting-trigger operation, high-beam deactivation and the separate Amber accents before securing the remaining trim.

STEP 15 OF 15
Aim fog lights and secure all fasteners
Aim each fog beam and refit every remaining fastener. Check that wiring is secure and the bumper edges and clips are seated correctly.

How the DD4110 controls work
The main beam needs both the enabled cabin switch and an active lighting-trigger signal. The deactivation input disables the main output when its high-beam signal is powered. The separate backlight lead uses a fused lighting-circuit supply. Follow the actual harness labels; the original diagram is a general harness reference, not a substitute for the RAV4 connector chart.

For the manufacturer’s aiming method, park 25 feet from a wall on level ground. Mark the fog-lamp centre height, then a second line four inches lower. Adjust each upper cutoff to the lower line. Follow applicable vehicle and local aiming requirements.

Original harness instructions and alternate auxiliary-switch method
Set the Dual Color main beam
Only DD9005 changes between White and Yellow. Fixed White and fixed Yellow do not change colour. Amber is a separate accent and switches off while the main beam is active.
With the harness enabled and the fog circuit powered, cycle the fog lamps on and off three times, keeping each state between half a second and five seconds. The lamps cycle through the colours twice. Leave them on for at least five seconds when the preferred colour appears to save it. Without a selection after two cycles, they return to White.
Watch the RAV4 overview and fog-light aiming
The overview covers add-on and replacement packages. This guide uses the no-factory-fog DD4110 wiring and the original add-on procedure.
