1. Release the harness clip
At the right side of the battery, remove the harness-retaining clip with a trim tool. Keep the harness clear of the bracket work.

BTS installation guide · DD8572 / DD8783
Fit the vehicle-specific bracket, connect the hub and controller, and plan each accessory circuit. These steps focus on 2021–2023 F-150 trucks using DD8572 or the DD8783 complete kit.

The current product fitment extends to 2026; the manufacturer’s illustrated F-150 bracket procedure is titled 2021–2025. This guide covers the 2021–2023 ecosystem. Confirm the exact mounting points on later trucks rather than assuming the photographs match every engine bay.
2021 3.0L Power Stroke: supplier testing is not confirmed. Resolve clearance before ordering or disassembly.
For the F-150 bracket, have a trim tool, 10 mm socket, 10 mm wrench and 4 mm Allen key ready. The electrical/controller work can also require Phillips #1/#2 drivers, an 8 mm socket, T10 Torx driver and suitable connection tools. Drilling depends on the cab-controller mounting choice.
Follow the vehicle service procedure for safely isolating its 12V electrical supply before working on power connections. Plan protected cable routing away from heat, moving components, sharp edges and control or airbag systems. Do not connect to a hybrid drive battery. No F-150 signal pinout or mounting-fastener torque is supplied by these instructions.
F-150 mounting
At the right side of the battery, remove the harness-retaining clip with a trim tool. Keep the harness clear of the bracket work.

Use a 10 mm socket to remove the coolant-reservoir mounting bolt shown in the photo. Retain this original bolt.

Slide the L-shaped bracket flange between the coolant reservoir and the original clip nut, then reinstall the retained factory bolt.

Use the supplied hardware, a 4 mm Allen key and 10 mm wrench to fasten the support leg to the battery tray where the harness clip was removed.

Use the supplied zip tie to secure the released harness to the installed bracket.

Secure the hub to the bracket with the supplied screw-and-nut hardware. Orient the harness connectors toward the firewall.

Choose a visible, accessible location inside the cab. The universal bracket provides angle adjustment; a flush mount uses the four rear screw holes. Check behind the surface before any drilling.
The manual specifies 9/64-inch screw holes and a 7/8-inch centre wire hole. A thicker surface may need separately supplied M3 ×0.5 screws. Confirm those dimensions against the actual hardware and installation surface before drilling.

The engine-bay bracket’s no-drill claim does not apply to these cab mounting choices.

The diagram shows circuit relationships, not a complete F-150 cable-routing plan. Protect and secure the wiring, and retain access to the battery and fuse box.
The accessory harness has five bare leads. These are low-current sense inputs, not accessory-power outputs. Verify the actual vehicle signal with a voltmeter; do not tap CAN, LIN, CXPI or another message-based circuit.

Connect the accessory harness to the hub harness with its aligned M8 connector. Use only the desired inputs and protect unused ends. The supplied quick splices are specified for 18–22 AWG wire: seat the sense lead in the stopped inner groove and the verified vehicle wire in the through groove, press the metal contact fully with pliers, tug-check both wires and close the latch. Use an appropriate connection method if the vehicle wire is outside that size range.
The manufacturer suggests a suitable parking-light or sidemarker 12V signal for Night Mode; this is not a claim that every F-150 lamp wire supplies a compatible signal.

Relay-controlled loads are on/off only. Do not apply PWM dimming to a mechanical relay. Check compatible-load requirements before using any flashing or dimming function.
