A BTS guide to choosing your light
Double Fury is United Pacific’s lighting series. Dual Revolution is a TRUX Accessories series. Both offer lights with a primary colour and a second colour, but the names do not mean identical wiring, mounting or operation. If you are searching for “dual rev” watermelon lights, start with the actual part number and the functions you want.
The most useful distinction is between colour and function. A single-colour light can have low and high settings. A two-colour light can have one input for each colour. Another two-colour light can add low/high control of its primary colour. Here is how those choices work, using specific Mini lights you can find at BTS.
Dual-colour versus dual-function: what changes?
Dual-colour describes two LED output colours. Amber and white, for example, are two outputs. Amber LEDs behind a clear lens are still one output colour: “amber/clear” describes the LEDs and lens, not amber and white illumination.
Dual-function needs a closer look at the product. In the UPI single-colour Minis discussed here, it means low/high operation of that colour. In the four-wire Double Fury Minis below, the primary colour has low/high inputs and there is a separate input for the secondary colour. TRUX identifies its example below by marker and auxiliary functions. Read the actual functions instead of assuming the phrase means the same circuit arrangement across every light.
Three Mini light choices at BTS
1. Single-colour Mini
Choose this when you want one colour with low/high operation. UPI 34847 is an amber example: 12V, three wires, a 3/4-inch mounting hole and an included rubber grommet. Its polished stainless bezel is another detail to match to your build.
2. Double Fury dual-colour
Choose this arrangement for a primary colour and a separately powered secondary colour. UPI 39235 is amber/white: 12V, three wires and a 3/4-inch mounting hole with a threaded stud and included nylon nut. Its secondary colour overrides the primary when powered.
3. Double Fury dual-function
Choose this arrangement for low/high primary operation plus a second colour. UPI 36211 combines amber low/high with blue secondary output: 12V, four wires and a 3/4-inch mounting hole with a threaded stud and included nylon nut. The secondary colour overrides the primary.
United Pacific specifies the secondary colours of the two Double Fury families above for auxiliary/off-road use only. Low/high inputs alone do not establish that a light is suitable as a turn signal in every mounting position. Match the selected part’s designated function to the installation.
Three wires can mean two different things
A wire count is a useful clue, not a wiring diagram. These are United Pacific’s colour codes for the exact examples above:

How does a TRUX Dual Revolution light compare?
For a concrete example, TRUX TLED-BX3AW is a 12V Dual Revolution light with amber marker and white auxiliary functions. TRUX lists two diodes, a clear lens, a chrome bezel and grommet, and three male bullet plugs. Its manufacturer listing says it is sold individually.
That gives it the same broad amber/white colour pairing as UPI 39235, but it does not establish a direct replacement. The manufacturers describe different products and supply their own mounting and connection details. Compare the actual dimensions and instructions before changing brands. A nominal size in a title is not enough to confirm the hole, rear clearance or harness.
For shoppers seeking a UPI alternative at BTS, the three choices above separate the circuit arrangements clearly. Choose by the job the light needs to do, then by colour, lens and mounting style. No single example establishes that one entire brand is brighter, longer-lasting or better for every installation.
Planning a row of Mini lights
When you are ordering several lights, consistency matters. Match the exact part numbers and colour/lens combination across the row, confirm the quantity sold on each listing and check what mounting hardware is included. Keep regular and clearance listings distinct; their availability and sale conditions may differ.
Measure the mounting hole and the space behind it before ordering. The Mini collection includes different families: current UPI 39226 and 36162 family specifications call for a 5/8-inch hole, while the three examples in this article call for 3/4 inch. A collection name such as Mini or Mini XL does not replace that measurement.
Plan the required circuits and switch/harness arrangement for your selected SKU. A row of lights is not automatically compatible with every accessory sold beside it. The companies behind the names
United Pacific Industries says it was founded in 1984, beginning as a small parts shop in El Segundo, California. Its range grew to serve big rigs and classic vehicles. Double Fury is a product series within that company; the 1984 company date is not a Double Fury launch date.
TRUX Accessories says it has served the trucking industry since 2000. Its company story traces family roots to a truck-tire shop opened in 1959, later developed into a distribution business, and describes two brothers expanding into trucking accessories. The family history predates the TRUX brand and does not date Dual Revolution.
A short timeline: company history versus product history
- 1984: United Pacific’s stated company founding.
- 2000: The start of TRUX’s operating history as described on its company page, separate from its 1959 family-business roots.
- 2015: TRUX’s official Dual Revolution video was published April 24. This documents the name in use by that date; it does not establish an exact product launch or an invention claim.
- Today: Both manufacturers offer multiple lighting formats under their respective product names. Current specifications, not a company’s age, determine which particular lamp suits your installation.
We have not established a precise Double Fury launch date from a currently accessible dated launch announcement. The useful comparison is what the individual lights do, rather than an unsupported claim about who was first.
Common questions
Are Double Fury and Dual Revolution the same brand?
No. Double Fury belongs to United Pacific’s lighting range; Dual Revolution is a TRUX Accessories range. Use the manufacturer and part number when ordering a replacement.
Does single-colour mean only one brightness setting?
No. The five UPI single-colour Mini families reviewed for this guide support low/high operation of the same colour. The selected part’s wiring tells you how those functions are controlled.
Can I use the same wiring for every Double Fury Mini?
No. The three-wire 39231–39239 family has primary and secondary inputs. The four-wire 36211–36219 family adds low/high inputs for the primary colour. Check your exact SKU’s instructions; do not assume other families share every operating behaviour.
Will every Mini fit a 3/4-inch mounting hole?
No. Some current families specify 5/8 inch. Check the manufacturer’s mounting-hole specification, outer dimensions and rear clearance for the exact part before drilling or replacing a lamp.
