Is There A Clear Winner?
If you are reading this, you may be in the market for a new set of lights and may be asking yourself what the best 4×6 LED headlight is. You are curious to know which brands are worth your money. You are wondering if a high priced name brand set are actually any better than the nameless Amazon specials you see everyone running.
I will start by saying that no, there is not one light that emerges victorious among all others. There are personal preferences to consider and a few surprises that may change the choice you make.
In this article, I will walk you through the choices that matter: the beam you need, heated-lens options, classic styling and installation requirements. Compare the current 4×6 LED headlights and installation parts alongside this guide. There is no one-size-fits-all winner.
What Is A Sealed Beam Headlight?

A traditional sealed beam combines the light source, reflector and lens into one replacement unit. When shopping for a replacement, distinguish that complete lamp from a conversion housing that uses a separate, replaceable bulb.
The numbers on your existing lamps are a useful starting point, but they do not replace an application check. Match the required low-beam or high-beam function as well as the mounting, wiring and operating voltage.
An LED upgrade should be chosen for the correct application and beam pattern, not simply because its light looks whiter. Keep high beams for appropriate driving conditions; changing headlight technology does not remove the need to avoid dazzling other road users.
How Does A LED Sealed Beam Differ?

An LED replacement uses light-emitting diodes with reflector or projector optics. Complete LED lamps and replaceable-bulb conversion housings are different products, even when both are listed in the same nominal 4×6 size.
If winter use matters to you, check for an explicitly heated model. Do not assume that an LED lamp will keep its lens clear of snow or that every version in a product family includes heating.
The practical questions are straightforward: does the lamp fit the existing setup, provide the required beam function and meet the exact application requirements? Proper installation and aiming remain part of the job.
So What Option Is The Best?
J.W. Speaker and Morimoto offer different approaches worth comparing, and Holley RetroBright adds a classic-looking option. This guide explains those differences; it does not claim a controlled brightness ranking between the current models.
JW Speaker 8800

The current J.W. Speaker 8800 EVO-X range should not be confused with the older 8800 Evolution 2 lamps pictured in this article. BTS carries separate heated low-beam, heated high-beam and heated 5-in-1 high/low-beam listings. Choose by exact part number and required function.
The manufacturer identifies 0562041/0562051 as heated low-beam lamps, 0562081/0562091 as heated high-beam lamps and 0562121/0562131 as heated 5-in-1 lamps. Other EVO-X versions exist, including non-heated models, so the family name alone is not enough to select the right light.
Older output photos and impressions are not a head-to-head test of the current EVO-X range. We are retaining the historical images for context rather than using them to claim that one current lamp is brighter than another.
Choose colour appearance from the exact manufacturer specification. The colour comparison below is an illustration, not a measured output comparison or a reason to substitute an estimated colour temperature for the published specification.

What Is The Heated Lens?

J.W. Speaker describes SmartHeat as its lens-heating technology for helping clear snow and ice. Check the selected lamp rather than assuming the feature is included across the whole 8800 family.
For a cold-weather purchase, that explicit heated specification can be an important selection factor. The historical photo illustrates the feature; it is not a guarantee that a lens will remain clear in every condition.
Morimoto Sealed4

The Morimoto Sealed4 LF267 combines low and high beam in one 4×6 Bi-LED lamp. Morimoto lists an H4 three-pin input and a left-hand-drive traffic pattern. It is sold as one lamp, so check the quantity and wiring needed for your installation.
Morimoto specifies an aluminium housing, polycarbonate lens and Nichia LED light source. These are product specifications, not proof that it outperforms every alternative. Confirm the current listing and installation requirements before choosing it for your truck.
What Does Beam Pattern Matter?

Beam function matters as much as the shape of the lamp. A dedicated high-beam lamp is not a substitute for the low-beam position, and a combined lamp still needs the correct wiring to operate as intended.
Compare the beam information and application instructions supplied by the manufacturer. A bright foreground in a photograph alone does not establish useful distance visibility or a fair comparison between two lamps.
Installation and aiming should follow the exact lamp and vehicle instructions. A cutoff visible in a photograph is not a promise of glare-free operation in every installation.
The Morimoto output image is retained as an illustration of its beam layout. It is not a controlled comparison against the current J.W. Speaker EVO-X range.
Our recommendation is to choose the correct beam and application first, then compare features such as heating and appearance. Avoid choosing solely by a photograph or a headline brightness claim.
Check the Installation
Check your existing lamp markings and installation requirements with the vehicle parked safely. Have the installed lights aimed and their low/high operation checked according to the lamp and vehicle instructions. Do not conduct hand-over-beam or other visibility experiments while driving.
Quad Low Beam (No Longer Available)
The quad-low adapters discussed in the earlier version of this guide are no longer offered here. They are not a required or recommended add-on for a current purchase.
Morimoto Sealed4 provides low and high beam within one lamp, while the current J.W. Speaker EVO-X range includes dedicated and combined configurations. That does not mean all four lamps will automatically perform both functions on every truck.
Use only the wiring and configuration specified for the exact lamp and vehicle. Do not bridge circuits or assume that a different lamp, adapter or previous installation proves compatibility.
Results
If a heated lens is a priority, compare the exact heated J.W. Speaker EVO-X options. If you want a combined low/high projector lamp, review the Morimoto Sealed4 requirements. For a more original appearance, consider Holley RetroBright. The best choice is the one that matches your truck and priorities; browse the current 4×6 range to compare the exact products.
Honorable Mentions
Holley RetroBright
The Holley RetroBright 4×6 high/low-beam and high-beam-only listings offer a classic appearance with LED lighting. Check the selected colour and exact part number. Holley has updated some part numbers and wiring, so do not assume an older and a superseding version have identical installation requirements.
Starr Lighting
The linked Starr products are HR4656 halogen conversion housings and HR4651 high-beam halogen conversion housings. They should not be labelled LED4656 or LED4651, or compared as if they were complete integrated LED lamps.
Check the current product page for the included bulb and wiring, beam function and application details. A replacement housing belongs in a different comparison from a complete LED headlight; neither the shared size nor the brand name makes them interchangeable.
